App Store Connect is where your app becomes a product — and where beginners get lost. Here is the tour.
Getting in
Sign in at appstoreconnect.apple.com with your developer Apple ID. No membership yet? Enrol, or buy a verified account with access ready.
My Apps
Every app lives here. Inside each: App Information, Pricing and Availability, App Privacy (the data questionnaire — answer honestly), and the version page where you attach the build and submit.
TestFlight
Uploaded builds land here first. Internal testers (up to 100) get instant access; external testers (up to 10,000) need a quick beta review. Full workflow: TestFlight explained.
Users and Access
This matters most on an organization account. Key roles: Account Holder (one person), Admin, App Manager, Developer (upload only), Marketing. Give the least access needed.
Agreements, Tax and Banking
Charging for your app or using in-app purchases? Complete the Paid Applications agreement plus tax and banking here, or your paid app cannot go live.
Analytics and Sales
App Analytics shows impressions, downloads, conversion rate and crashes. The metric to watch early is conversion rate — it tells you whether your screenshots and subtitle are working.
Five things beginners get wrong
- Incomplete App Privacy answers.
- Forgetting the Paid Applications agreement.
- Screenshots for only one device size.
- A privacy-policy URL that 404s.
- A bundle ID they later regret — it is permanent.
FAQ
Is App Store Connect the same as the developer portal?
No — the portal handles certificates and identifiers; App Store Connect handles the app itself.
