You paid, you filled the form, and now the status will not move — or a rejection arrives with almost no explanation. Apple is deliberately vague, so here is a diagnostic, cause by cause.

1. D-U-N-S details do not match

The most common cause. Your company name, address or phone on the D-U-N-S record differs from your form or registration. Fix: make all three identical, character for character.

2. Nobody answers the business phone

Apple often calls the listed number to verify the entity. Use a number someone answers during business hours, with the company name.

3. Identity verification fails

The Apple ID name does not match your government ID, or the document is blurry or expired. Update the Apple ID to your exact legal name and submit a clear, current ID.

4. Payment method rejected

A declined card, a prepaid/virtual card, or a billing country that differs from your enrollment country. Use a standard credit card issued in the enrollment country.

5. You are not an authorised signatory

Apple requires that you can bind the company. Enrol as a director/owner, or supply documentation of authority.

6. The website does not back up the company

A parked domain or one with no company details fails. Put the legal name, address and contact on the site before enrolling.

7. Region and account history

Enrollment is harder in some regions, and an Apple ID with prior issues can be flagged. Use a clean Apple ID with real details, and contact Apple Developer Support if it stalls.

How long before you escalate

Individual enrollment often clears in 1–3 days; organization enrollment 1–4 weeks with D-U-N-S. Past two weeks with no movement, contact Support with your enrollment ID.

When fixing it is not worth the wait

Sometimes the problem is not fixable on your timeline. If a launch date is fixed, waiting is the expensive option — you can buy a verified account, Personal or Company, and start the same day.

FAQ

Does Apple refund a rejected enrollment?

Apple generally charges only on approval; if charged and rejected, contact Support for a refund.

Is individual enrollment easier?

Much — it skips D-U-N-S and entity checks. See Individual vs Organization.
